What people are saying.

  • “I am a child psychiatrist and have had the tremendous opportunity to engage Kate in working with teams in my roles in leadership at a children’s hospital as well as in training child psychiatry residents in family therapy. I have found the improv workshops she has created in these settings to be invaluable! With hospital-based clinical and leadership teams the workshops were effective in raising awareness about communication skills as well as in providing a valuable team-building opportunity. The resident family training workshops have become a powerful component of the curriculum by offering an intensive group experience that supports skill building in active listening, emotional awareness, and making fast paced decisions in charged scenarios. Kate has great skill in creating an experience in which participants feel at ease while also feeling challenged to grow in unexpected ways. I believe that Kate’s workshops would have great potential to support individual and team growth in a huge range of settings!”

  • I highly recommend Kate Teichman’s workplace improv workshop. RISD Auxiliary Services is a large, diverse organization responsible for self-operated dining, catering, retail, mail, warehousing, and conferences. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service to the RISD community. After Kate facilitated a workshop, comments ranged from “I was surprised how relevant and beneficial this was for me” to “I loved it! I played with team members that I rarely get the chance to spend time with.,” “I can’t wait to use the skills I learned today!”. Kate created a safe space for our team members, making them feel welcomed and heard. She used classic improv games focused on developing listening skills while practicing accepting and building upon the ideas of others. Kate got the entire team to participate and have fun while learning!
